Easter is the pivitol day in the Christian calendar marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is always observed on a Sunday. On the fortieth day after Easter, the Ascension of the Lord is observed and the season continues for another ten days leading up to Pentecost (fifty days after Easter).
Sundays during this time are known as the First Sunday of Easter, Second Sunday of Easter, and so on. The Sunday before Pentecost is known as Ascension of the Lord Sunday.
The color used during the season of Easter is white.
